Germination

The germination types used in gray cast iron are often ferrosilicon-based alloys with alloying elements such as strontium, barium, zirconium, aluminum and calcium.
The mechanical properties and strength of all metals and alloys depend on their grain size and structure. During casting and freezing, the presence of germinators causes freezing to start from many points (germinators) and the structure to be obtained in fine grains.
In this case, mechanical properties such as final yield strength, hardness, toughness or fracture toughness as well as flexibility are increased.
